This was a hike I really enjoyed and had a great view. I can't wait to do it again once the snow melts and everything is green and in bloom. Bluff Mountain was only about a 15 min drive from my house and a relatively quick, but satisfying hike. It was snowing the day we went and micro spikes or snowshoes were a must. We brought our dog with us and she absolutely loved it. The snow on the trees and walking through the woods on the trail was beautiful. It was a brisk, but once we got going my body warmed up and the nip of the winter air felt good on my face.

Once we reached the top of the mountain we were graced with a gorgeous view of Island Pond. It was definitely a really cool perspective for me after spending so much time around Island Pond over the years. The loop continued down over the overlook, but snowy and icy conditions prevented us from taking that route back. I plan to try that way this spring/summer. It looked like there might be ladders involved going down, but it was hard to tell. We ended up just going back out the way we came in which was equally good. There was a couple places that were a little tricky to navigate up and down, but i think it was just because of the snow and ice. I think once everything melts it will be much easier. I recommend this hike to anyone looking for a easy to moderate hike with a amazing view.
