Exploring Niagra Falls

Updated: May 1, 2020

This was a unplanned stop on our road tip, but definitely worth the detour. When we started this trip and headed west across New York I had no idea how long it would take to cross this state. I never thought we would get to the other side. By the time we reached our turning point to either continue on or take a detour to Niagra Falls I was ready for a change of scenery, not to mention who knows when I would get this opportunity again. We visited the falls from the U.S side which I've been told isn't as good as the Canadian side, but I thought it was beautiful and amazing anyway. I think a lot of the problem with the U.S. side might be over crowding, but we apparently came at the right time of year and day. There was a decent amount of people, but we weren't shoulder to shoulder and had plenty of room to breathe and take photos. It was a little chilly being it was October, but I think there was less tourists than usual. It seemed like they were doing some renovating or expanding to the visitor center as well. Maybe they are expanding to accommodate more people. One thing I was not impressed with was the cleanness of the restrooms. Other than that the view was amazing and I am some thankful that we decided to take this detour.
