Hiking The 48
Updated: Apr 28, 2020
Early this past spring I made a decision to hike all 67 4,000 footers in New England starting with the 48 4k's of New Hampshire. I have no idea why brought this about other than the fact that I have fallen in love with hiking, but mostly the mountains and the beauty and nature of the hike itself. I didn't even know about the 4K list until this year and once I learned about it I knew it was something I just had to do. It has been a challenging yet fulling six months since I've started. I've conquered 13 of the mountains so far and still have so many to go. As fall is approaching and colder weather is creeping in on me I am preparing to do some winter hikes in the near future.
Over the past few months I have learned so much from the trails. No trail is identical to another and each one has it's own unique challenges and obstacles. These mountains have pushed me to push myself and persevere no matter how difficult things can get. They will continue to challenge me and open my eyes to the beauty of the world that lays before us.
